Jigglypuff weighs 5.5 kg (12.1 lb), according to its official Pokédex entry, and stands 0.5 m (1 ft 8 in) tall. The Pokédex calls it the Balloon Pokémon, and several entries describe it inflating itself to sing for longer. Its evolution Wigglytuff weighs 12 kg, more than twice as much.
The figure is the official Pokédex weight. pokemon.com lists Jigglypuff at 12.1 lb and 1 ft 8 in, and the Scarlet and Violet Pokédex gives the same numbers in metric: 5.5 kg and 0.5 m. It is a Normal and Fairy type, Pokédex number 39.
That is the standard weight for the species. In Pokémon GO the baseline is the same 5.5 kg, but individual Jigglypuff vary in height and weight, and the game tags unusually small and large ones as XS and XXL.
Why it is so light for its size
Jigglypuff is close to a ball, so its density can be roughly worked out. This is our calculation, not an official figure. Treating it as a sphere 0.5 m across gives a volume of 4/3 × π × 0.25³ ≈ 0.065 m³, or about 65 liters. Then 5.5 kg ÷ 65 liters ≈ 0.08 kg per liter, roughly one-twelfth the density of water. The real body is a little smaller than the full 0.5 m height, so the true figure is somewhat higher, but still far below water.
The Pokédex suggests why. Its entries in Gold, HeartGold, Y and Violet say it inflates to sing a lullaby for longer, and the Sun entry says it hugely inflates its stomach before it sings. The Sword entry credits it with top-notch lung capacity, even compared with other Pokémon. A body that is largely air explains both the category name and the low weight.
From Igglybuff to Wigglytuff
Igglybuff, the baby form, is 0.3 m tall and weighs 1 kg (2.2 lb). It evolves into Jigglypuff when leveled up with high friendship, which makes it 5.5 times heavier.
Jigglypuff evolves into Wigglytuff with a Moon Stone. Wigglytuff is 1.0 m (3 ft 3 in) tall and weighs 12 kg (26.5 lb), about 2.2 times Jigglypuff. Its Scarlet entry says that when angry it may inflate steadily and hit with a body slam.
What its weight does in battle
Low Kick gets stronger the heavier the target is. Against anything under 10 kg, Jigglypuff included, it has the minimum power of 20.
Heavy Slam works the other way: the more the user outweighs the target, the harder it hits. It reaches its maximum power of 120 when the target weighs less than 20% of the user, so any Pokémon heavier than 27.5 kg hits Jigglypuff with the full-power version.
The Super Smash Bros. series keeps it light as well. Its weight value there (68 in Brawl, Smash 4 and Ultimate, 60 in Melee) is a game stat, not kilograms. Jigglypuff is the lightest fighter in the original Super Smash Bros., Brawl and Smash 4, and in Melee and Ultimate only Pichu is lighter.
Jigglypuff weighs 12.1 lb, which is 5.5 kg. That is the official Pokédex weight on pokemon.com.
