Adult Goku weighs 62 kg (137 lb) and stands 175 cm (5 ft 9 in) tall, according to the official Dragon Ball guidebooks. That is his only official weight: no guide lists kid Goku, his Super Saiyan forms or his Great Ape form, so any other number you see is a fan estimate.
The figure first appeared in Daizenshuu 7 (1996), one of the official Dragon Ball encyclopedias, which gives Goku’s height as 175 cm and his weight as 62 kg on page 79. In 1996 he was one of only a handful of characters with a printed height and weight.
The 2009 Super Exciting Guide: Character Volume repeated the same numbers and added profiles for the rest of the main cast. Its introduction says the profile boxes were supervised by Akira Toriyama, the series’ creator, so 175 cm and 62 kg are as official as Dragon Ball numbers get.
Both books give the weight for adult Goku only. There is no official figure for him as a kid, and none for the Great Ape, whose size changes a lot from scene to scene.
62 kg at 175 cm works out to a body mass index of about 20, the build of a lean runner rather than a bodybuilder. For a man who is drawn with huge arms and shoulders, that is light, and fans have pointed it out for years.
The rest of the cast is listed in the same range. The Super Exciting Guide puts Vegeta at 164 cm and 56 kg, adult Gohan at 176 cm and 61 kg, and Piccolo at 226 cm and 116 kg. Mr. Satan, at 94 kg, outweighs Goku by more than 30 kg.
Goku has spent a lot of his life making himself heavier on purpose. Under Kami he trained in weighted wristbands, boots and an undershirt. When he takes them off to fight Tenshinhan at the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament (manga chapter 177), Tenshinhan says the gear comes to more than 100 kg, more than Goku’s own body weight.
After his first death he trained on King Kai’s planet, which has 10 times Earth’s gravity, so his 62 kg would feel like about 620 kg. On the way to Namek he used the gravity machine in his Capsule Corporation spaceship, starting at 20 times gravity and working up to 100 times, where his body would weigh about as much as a big African elephant does on Earth.
The anime adds a filler scene in the afterlife, before the 25th World Martial Arts Tournament, where Goku trains with leg and wrist weights that grow from 2 tonnes to 10 tonnes each, 40 tonnes in all, and he has to turn Super Saiyan to move in them.
About 137 lb. The guidebooks give 62 kg, which is 136.7 lb.
Adult Goku is 175 cm, or about 5 ft 9 in, according to Daizenshuu 7 and the Super Exciting Guide. That makes him 11 cm taller than Vegeta.
Goku. The Super Exciting Guide lists Vegeta at 56 kg (123 lb) and 164 cm, so Goku is 6 kg heavier and 11 cm taller.
More than 100 kg. In the manga Tenshinhan picks up Goku’s wristbands, boots and undershirt and says that all together they weigh over a hundred kilograms.
No official weight exists. The Great Ape is drawn at very different sizes, from tens of feet tall to towering over Pilaf’s castle, and no guidebook gives it a height or weight.
