An adult male Na’vi weighs about 210 kg (463 lb) at an average height of 3 m (9 ft 10 in), and a female about 190 kg (419 lb) at 2.8 m. Those weights come from Avatar reference material repeated by fan guides; the official online Pandorapedia confirms the height but gives no weight.

Where the 210 kg comes from
The official Pandorapedia, the guide to Pandora that Fox ran at pandorapedia.com and later moved to avatar.com, gives the Na’vi a size but not a weight. Its quick facts read “Average male is three meters tall, females slightly smaller.” It also says they are more slender than the average human yet have roughly four times a human’s strength.
The weights appear in a fuller description: adult males in the Australis region around Hell’s Gate average 3 m and 210 kg, females 2.8 m and 190 kg, and the largest recorded Na’vi, a male, stood 3.9 m and weighed 290 kg (639 lb). That text is quoted in fan compilations of the official material and on Avatar Wiki, which cites the Activist Survival Guide and The World of Avatar: A Visual Exploration for the 3.9 m figure. We could not find the weights on any archived Pandorapedia page.
Not every source agrees. Avatar Wiki cites the Avatar 3D Annual (2011) for an average of 286 lb on Pandora, or 357 lb (162 kg) in Earth gravity. And the Activist Survival Guide, the 2009 field guide written as an RDA report, is no longer canon: Joshua Izzo of the Avatar franchise said so in December 2023, according to Avatar Wiki.
Why a 3 m body weighs only 210 kg
If you scaled up an average 1.75 m, 70 kg human to 3 m, keeping the same build, the weight would rise with the cube of the height: 3 ÷ 1.75 is about 1.71, and 1.71 cubed is about 5.0, so roughly 350 kg. At 210 kg a male Na’vi is about 60% of that.
That fits the official description. Pandorapedia says the Na’vi body is long and narrow, with a slim elongated waist, a neck twice as long as a human’s and a build it compares to the Maasai, with sharply defined muscle and no sense of emaciation. Their bones are light but tough: in the 2009 film Colonel Quaritch warns new arrivals that the Na’vi have “bones reinforced with naturally occurring carbon fiber.”
Avatar bodies
The avatars grown by the RDA have, in Pandorapedia’s words, “the body structure and physiology of a Pandoran native”. The human genes add a fifth finger and toe and make the eyes smaller, but the size stays Na’vi. Avatar.com describes Jake Sully waking up in a nine-foot tall avatar body.
No source gives an avatar’s weight. Scaling the 210 kg male down to 9 ft (2.74 m) gives 210 × (2.74 ÷ 3)³, which is about 160 kg (353 lb). That is our estimate, not a canon figure.
An average adult male weighs about 463 lb (210 kg) and a female about 419 lb (190 kg). The largest Na’vi on record weighed 639 lb (290 kg).
How tall are the Na’vi?
Pandorapedia says the average male is three meters (9 ft 10 in) tall and females slightly smaller, about 2.8 m. The tallest recorded Na’vi stood 3.9 m (12 ft 10 in).
How strong are the Na’vi?
Pandorapedia says they have roughly four times the strength of an average human despite their slim build. In the film, Quaritch adds that their bones are reinforced with naturally occurring carbon fiber, which makes them very hard to kill.
How much does a Na’vi weigh on Pandora?
Its mass is the same 210 kg, but Pandora’s gravity is about 0.8 g. So a male Na’vi feels about as heavy there as 168 kg (370 lb) does on Earth.
Is an avatar the same size as a Na’vi?
Roughly, yes. Avatars share the native body plan, and Jake Sully’s is described as nine feet tall. No weight has been published; scaling from the Na’vi male gives about 160 kg.
