The Thousand Sunny weighs about 2,000 tonnes (roughly 4.4 million lb) by our estimate. One Piece gives its size but never its weight: the official Vivre Card lists it at 39 m long and 56 m tall. 2,000 t is a generous figure, in line with wooden warships whose masts are as tall as the Sunny’s.

Eiichiro Oda has never published a weight for the Sunny. The Vivre Card data book gives its size: 39 m (128 ft) long and 56 m (184 ft) tall. The volume 46 SBS has a full set of blueprints, but no tonnage. So any weight, including ours, is an estimate.
We went by height. The Sunny is drawn short, deep and round, with masts reaching 56 m, which is the size class of big wooden warships. The Swedish Vasa stands 52.5 m from keel to mainmast top and displaces 1,210 t. The USS Constitution’s foremast is 60 m (198 ft) and the ship displaces 2,200 tons. We put the Sunny near the top of that range, at 2,000 t.
Scaled by length alone, the number drops a lot. A ship weighs roughly in proportion to the cube of its length, and 39 m is 0.62 times the Constitution’s 63 m, so the same build would weigh 0.62 × 0.62 × 0.62 × 2,200, about 520 t. Our 2,000 t assumes a much fuller hull than a real sailing ship of its length.
The crew’s first ship, the Going Merry, is listed on its Vivre Card at 13 m long and 11 m tall. The Sunny is exactly three times as long. With the same proportions, three times the length means 27 times the weight, so a Merry built like our Sunny would come to about 74 t.
Franky built the Sunny in Water 7 with help from Iceburg and other Galley-La shipwrights. It is a brigantine, a two-masted rig, and it carries a lawn deck, an aquarium bar, a library, a bath, sixteen cannons and the Soldier Dock System, a turntable of six bays holding vehicles such as the Mini Merry II and the Shark Submerge III.
The Sunny is built from Adam wood, cut from the Treasure Tree Adam on Elbaph and called the strongest wood in the world. Franky bought it on the black market for 200 million berries. The only other known ship made of it is Gol D. Roger’s Oro Jackson. No source says how dense Adam wood is, so it does not change our estimate.
The story often throws all that weight around. The Coup de Burst fires three barrels of cola out of the stern to launch the whole ship about 1 km through the air, and the Adam wood lets the hull take the blast without damage. On the way up from Fish-Man Island, three huge deep sea fish caught by Luffy, Zoro and Usopp were heavy enough to start dragging it down.

Yes. The Huis Ten Bosch theme park in Sasebo, Japan, launched a 30 m replica in April 2011. Anime News Network reported it weighs 430 tons and carries 250 people on short cruises around Omura Bay.
